EBA Recognizes 2024 Excellence Award Winners
EBA Engineering, Inc. (EBA) honored the firm’s outstanding projects and employees for 2024 at our holiday party held on December 14, 2024, at Martin’s West in Baltimore, Maryland. Learn more about the 2024 EBA Excellence Awards recipients below.
Employee Excellence Award
Alireza Tashakori, Senior Project Manager in Structural Engineering, was honored for his exceptional contributions. With 26 years at EBA, Ali consistently delivers innovative solutions, earns client praise, and mentors junior engineers. His dedication to quality and collaboration embodies EBA’s motto, “where commitment counts.”
Small Project of the Year Award
The Hampton Shaler Non-Revenue Water Tracking project in Alleghany County, Pennsylvania, earned the Small Project of the Year award. Led by Joseph DeLuca, John Watson, and Austin Wolf, the project uses cutting-edge GIS technology to track water flow, detect leaks, and improve water management efficiency. In the first 9 months, this tool identified 100 million gallons of non-revenue water loss and significantly advanced Hampton Shaler Water Authority’s water conservation efforts by reducing waste and preserving this critical resource for future use.
Large Project of the Year Award
The Lane Place Pedestrian Bridge project in Washington, DC, received the Large Project of the Year award. Redha Hasan, Matthew Hash, and Farshid Faramarzi led efforts to replace a vital pedestrian bridge that collapsed in 2021. EBA’s construction management and inspection team ensured the bridge—which features new entry points, ADA-compliant ramps, improved lighting, and enhanced safety—was rebuilt on time and within budget. The new bridge has greatly improved accessibility and quality of life for the local community.
Program of the Year Award
EBA’s HR Recruiting, Hiring, and Onboarding Initiatives, led by Megan Disney, Natasha Wilson, Ashley Ark, and Keith Robinson, were recognized for transforming the firm’s HR processes. Innovations included automated workflows, simplified applications, and enhanced onboarding experiences. These improvements reduced time-to-hire, increased retention, and established a scalable framework to support EBA’s growth.
Selection Criteria
EBA’s Employee Excellence Award is selected based on the employee’s positive contributions to company processes, support of customer satisfaction, innovation, impact on morale, and overall effort.
EBA’s Project of the Year Award nominees are judged based on their success at exceeding client needs; uniqueness; innovation; scope and significance; social, economic, and sustainable impacts; level of difficulty; and project constraints.
Congratulations to our 2024 award winners for their outstanding achievements! We sincerely appreciate your unwavering dedication to excellence!
