EBA Engineering Receives Excellence in Paving Award from Maryland Asphalt Association
EBA recently received a 2023 Excellence in Paving Award from the Maryland Asphalt Association (MAA). Abel Yeshitila and Mohammad Jamal Uddin, EBA construction inspectors, accepted the award on EBA’s behalf at the MAA 60th Annual Paving Conference on Wednesday, March 13, at Martin’s West in Baltimore.
Each year, MAA and the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) recognize exceptional asphalt paving jobs across the state. To determine the award winners, judges tour rate each completed project entry to assess and rate ride smoothness and quality of joints, texture, and tie-ins.
EBA’s Excellence in Paving Award recognized an I-495 paving project for which EBA provided construction management and inspection services. Performed under a contract with MDOT SHA District 3, the work involved oversight and inspection of milling and paving operations along a 4.7-mile segment of I-495 to remove and replace deteriorated asphalt. The work was carried out by F.O. Day, the contractor.
“EBA Engineering takes pride in our successful collaboration with the contractor to significantly enhance the pavement surface and user experience for I-495 drivers,” says Rizwan Siddiqi, PE, EBA’s president and CEO. “This project reflects our team’s commitment to excellence for clients, and to improved quality of life for residents in the local area.”
