Sunny Kim is a geotechnical engineer with more than 40 years of experience supporting transportation, utility, infrastructure, and land development projects throughout Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC. Throughout his career, he has conducted geotechnical investigations, evaluated subsurface conditions, developed foundation recommendations, and provided engineering support for projects ranging from site development and stormwater facilities to complex public infrastructure improvements.

Recognized for his practical approach and technical expertise, Sunny helps clients identify geotechnical risks early, evaluate design alternatives, and develop cost-effective solutions that support successful project delivery. His experience encompasses all phases of a project, from initial site assessment and engineering analysis through construction support and inspection services.

At EBA, Sunny collaborates with multidisciplinary project teams to deliver geotechnical engineering solutions that help clients make informed decisions and advance critical projects throughout the region.

Sunny earned a master’s degree in geotechnical engineering from Virginia Tech and is a registered professional engineer in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC).
