EBA Engineering, Inc. (EBA) was recognized with two awards in the Maryland Asphalt Association (MAA) 2022 Excellence in Paving Awards competition. EBA’s Michele Grove, Muhammad Jamal Uddin, and Abel Yeshitila accepted the awards at the MAA 59th Annual Paving Conference on Wednesday, March 8, at Martin’s West in Baltimore.

Each year, MAA and the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) recognize exceptional asphalt paving jobs in Maryland. Judges closely examine each of the entries through a series of tours and rate them based on ride, joints, texture, and tie-ins to determine the winners.

The Excellence in Paving Awards recognized paving projects performed under EBA’s contracts with MDOT SHA District 3 (MD 117 from MD 28 to Slidell Road) and Anne Arundel County (Patuxent Road from Conway Road to Patuxent River Bridge). EBA provided construction engineering and inspection services for both projects.

“Both of these projects required daily, detailed inspection and assessment to ensure outstanding pavement repairs,” said EBA President and CEO Rizwan Siddiqi, PE. “Our project teams ensured quality pavement that will serve area motorists well for years to come.”
