ArcGIS Online SALUS Portal Interface
The Los Angeles Homeland Security Advisory Council (HSAC) used an ArcGIS Online solution called SALUS to plan for, monitor, and coordinate emergency responses. HSAC was dissatisfied with the quality of services and the map-centric interface of SALUS. To develop a better solution, geographIT, a division of EBA Engineering, Inc., provided staff augmentation and managed services for several key initiatives.
geographIT designed, implemented, and deployed an ArcGIS Enterprise 10.5.1 cloud-hosted architecture for the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud environment. This environment is very scalable and can handle peak demands during special events and emergencies.
geographIT also redesigned the SALUS user interface to make it more intuitive to navigate applications, documents, and data in the portal. The new application allows SALUS administrators to easily configure the page to display targeted information based on audience. This has drastically cut down on the amount of time support staff spend answering questions on where to find content.
The team assisted with on-boarding new SALUS clients, which involved configuration of new groups, services, data, and real-time feeds to the system. Maintenance operations and enhancements are performed using the ArcGIS Platform including ArGIS Online, ArcGIS Server, GeoEvent processor, and other platform components.
