EBA Engineering Receives Two Excellence in Paving Awards from Maryland Asphalt Association

EBA Engineering, Inc. (EBA), is honored to have received two 2024 Excellence in Paving Awards from the Maryland Asphalt Association (MAA) at their 61st Annual Paving Conference held on March 12, 2025, in Baltimore. Construction manager Steve Kiley and inspectors Abel Yeshitila and Jamal Uddin accepted the awards on EBA’s behalf.
Each year, MAA and the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) recognize “the best of the best” in asphalt paving work across the state. To evaluate the entries, judges visit each completed project to assess and rate ride smoothness and quality of joints, texture, and tie-ins.
EBA’s awards this year recognized two MDOT SHA District 3 projects for which the company provided construction management and inspection services: MD 650 from Milestone Drive to Shaw Avenue and MD 586 from MD 28 to Structure #15006300. The $4.6 million safety and resurfacing project along MD 650 improved a 1.75-mile section of pavement. The MD 586 project involved milling and overlaying three different asphalt mixes on a composite road to enhance ride quality along MD 28 through MD 193. Performed under a contract with MDOT SHA District 3, EBA provided oversight and inspection of milling and paving operations in collaborative partnership with the contractors.
“EBA professionals recognize the critical role of Maryland’s transportation infrastructure and the high standards expected for its service quality,” says Rizwan Siddiqi, PE, EBA’s President and CEO. “We are honored to receive these awards, which reflect our team’s unwavering dedication to our clients and to the residents, visitors, and roadway users of Maryland.”
