Stephen Zeller has joined EBA Engineering, Inc. (EBA) as a senior project manager in the firm’s water systems engineering department. He is based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and will help grow EBA’s water systems engineering practice and serve our clients in Pennsylvania and Maryland.
“Steve has excellent process engineering and management expertise,” said EBA President and CEO Rizwan Siddiqi, PE. “He is an expert in innovative wastewater treatment processes, and we are proud to welcome him to the EBA family.”
Zeller brings more than 20 years of project management experience in civil, environmental, and water systems engineering to his new role with EBA. He has developed innovative solutions for nitrogen removal systems, sludge management, lagoon treatment systems, lake management, and industrial wastewater treatment and processes.
He permitted and oversaw a new onsite wastewater treatment plant system for Harford Community College in Bel Air, Maryland—the first for the college and the state of Maryland. He was also the project manager and primary process design engineer for renovating existing open water cells and doubling capacity for the first and largest constructed wetlands treatment process in Pennsylvania and the largest on the East Coast.
Zeller is also working with teams who are developing new and innovative water and wastewater treatment technologies, such as hydro-cavitation, ozone treatment, and electro cell industrial water recycling, and he has specialized expertise in large-scale food processing wastewater treatment.
He is working to expand the knowledge and use of biologicals in municipal and industrial food processing wastewater treatment including sludge removal and nutrient removal. He is also part of teams developing biomass to energy projects and large, multiuse green energy parks.
Before earning his master of science degree in environmental wastewater and water engineering from Penn State Harrisburg, Zeller was the shift supervisor for wastewater operations at the City of Harrisburg Advanced Wastewater Treatment Facility.
He also holds dual bachelor of science degrees in computer science and biology from Old Dominion University.
